- Fool the machine into thinking Microsoft Virtual Machine for Java is installed
- create a zero-byte file named MSJAVA.DLL in your C:\Windows folder before running setup. This tricks the installer into thinking it is already installed, bypassing the required reboot and installation
Run as Admin- Right-click SETUP.EXE and select "Run as Administrator".
Use Compatibility Mode- Set compatibility to Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
Custom Install- Select "Custom" installation and uncheck "Data Access" (specifically ADO, RDS) to prevent freezing.
Service Pack 6- After installation, install VB6 Service Pack 6 to ensure functionality.
Alternative Method: If the standard method fails, copy all installation files to a local folder, modify the .stf file, and run acmsetup.exe.
